Exhibition AV with Babyliss Pro as BGLX deliver large widescreen projection blend.
The journey with BGLX and Babyliss began in 2017 when one of our venues introduced us for a one off show that the professional hair brand were putting on in Manchester.
Following the great success of the show, BGLX were asked to London to replicate the same event, and from there deliver a major exhibition stand within Excel Exhibition Centre.
Our strength at delivering the incredible, crisp clear and impactful event for Babyliss has meant that they have come back and trusted us time again to deliver the technical for their events and exhibition AV.
This exhibition is the second year that we have delivered the stand for Salon International at the Excel Centre.
Heres what we did!
Working with the incredibly talented people at Priority Exhibitions. They built a 14m wide, 6m high seamless projection surface as the back drop to the live demonstrations on stage. The whole stand incorporated the stylists rooms, dressers, AV tech desks and sales zones.
BGLX used 3 Panasonic RZ970 HD Laser projectors to create a seamless blend across the widescreen wall. Using the Blackmagic Design Atem 2 M/E, with Resolume Arena 6 software to create the main blend. We were then able to super-source a camera feed into the centre of the screen using the 2nd mix engine for a close up of the demonstration.
As well as the main widescreen, we had control over two video wall elements right at the front of the stand, a TV on the sales desk and backstage preview monitors for models and stylists.
It’s Not all video!
BGLX also supplied the sound and lighting for the exhibition stand. The sound, a tricky one as the designers wanted to keep the stand clear and clean. That meant no speakers on display, and no hardware standing out ruining the clean lines of the screen. So BGLX put everything up in the air in the grid. We designed a compact 4-way system to provide clean intelligible sound to the live stage area using our d&b E12’s. To fill in the outer and sales zones we used d&b E8s, while our Digico S21 controlled the whole system.
With the lighting, an even and natural wash was required to show the stylists creations in all their awe. We needed to reduce the spill on the screen, while still being bright enough for the cameras. The Expression 3300 moving head wash was chosen, with RGBAW LEDs, they provide the perfect colour temperature for a natural wash, and an impressive zoom able to cover the whole area. Chauvet Eve LED Fresnels filled in the front and the cat walk.
